Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1949 musical is the story of an American nurse who falls in love with a French plantation owner on a South Pacific island during World War II.  Winner of 10 Tony Awards and the 1950 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Broadway sensation quickly became a major motion picture starring Mitzi Gaynor and Rossano Brazzi. Enjoy such timeless songs as Some Enchanted Evening, I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy, and I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair presented in a live, semi-staged format with singing, dancing, and music by the Grand Rapids Symphony.
