BRAHMS Tragic Overture

Marcelo Lehninger Conductor | Inon Barnatan Piano

During his short 31 years, Franz Schubert wrote songs that touched the soul, and symphonies that praised the heavens.  He would not live to hear his great and noble Ninth Symphony, and another decade would pass before Felix Mendelssohn could premiere Schubert’s symphonic masterpiece.  These concerts also feature a colorful, new concerto by Andrew Norman with the acclaimed Inon Barnatan. “Sensitive, always expressive,” said the San Francisco Chronicle of Inon Barnatan.  “The audience cheered the performance to the rafters.”
