Grand Rapids Symphony Travels to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for "A Little Night Music"

The D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops is in full swing, with new Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt leading "Classical Fireworks" for the first time this week. Following "Classical Fireworks," Bob and orchestra musicians will travel northbound to Blue Lake Public Radio for "A Little Night Music" on Saturday, July 18 at 8:00 p.m.

This special concert has been an ongoing collaboration between Blue Lake Public Radio and the Symphony for over a decade. The concert will feature works by Debussy, Mozart, Richard Strauss, Respighi and Warlock and its proceeds will benefit the station.

Blue Lake Public Radio station manager Steve Albert says the Symphony's performance at Blue Lake is a highly anticipated event every year. "We are excited to welcome new Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt to the Blodgett Recital Hall stage for this collaborative event," he said.

"A Little Night Music" will be rebroadcast on Blue Lake Public Radio (WBLU 88.9 in Grand Rapids and WBLV 90.3 in Muskegon) on Saturday, August 1st at 8:00 p.m.
