Experience Music Re(de)fined at MySymphony360's Fall Event

Two years ago, the Grand Rapids Symphony launched an initiative to engage a new generation of symphony-goers during a gallery event. Last season, MySymphony360, the  membership program for ages 21-35, welcomed over 200 young professionals to Grand Rapids Symphony concerts and events with unique perks and benefits, including $15 tickets to select concerts.

On Wednesday, September 9, MySymphony360 will kickstart a new season of redefining music experiences at the Richard App Gallery in the East Hills neighborhood. Members can reconnect after the summer, peruse the paintings and sculptures in the gallery, and enjoy seasonal beverages and food on the patio.

Those new to the program can network and learn more about the perks and benefits that accompany a MySymphony360 membership, such as $15 tickets to Classical and Pops concerts, discounts at restaurants like Reserve Wine & Food, behind-the-scene access and much more.

"It has been so exciting to be a part of MySymphony360 through the past couple seasons, and to meet and connect with new people as the program has grown," said Corinne Sprague, a MySymphony360 member, chair of the GRS Community Engagement Committee, and an attorney at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP.  "We have several new events planned for the coming season – beginning with our season kickoff event at the Richard App Gallery on September 9 – and I can’t wait for additional opportunities to experience our fantastic symphony, meet musicians and learn more about their work, and make new friends through MySymphony360!"

The event will have an out-of-the-box music element. ESME, an acoustic string band comprised of two young musicians in the Grand Rapids Symphony orchestra, will perform an eclectic range of songs, from pop and film music to hip-hop and jazz. Nick Nortier, a local artist, will create an original painting throughout the duration of the event which will later be included in a GRS auction.

Space is limited! To RSVP for the event, visit ms360fallkickoff.eventbrite.com
