Explosively fun times are shaping up for the beloved GR Pops Classical Fireworks concert featuring not one, not two, but ALL 3 of our GRS Maestros. Music Director Marcelo Lehninger, Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt, and Associate Conductor John Varineau will lead the orchestra for a spectacular evening of light classics including The Armed Forces Salute, Overture to Candide, God Bless America and fan-favorite Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Patrick Miles Jr., former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, joins the Grand Rapids Symphony to narrate A Lincoln Portrait, Aaron Copland’s stirring musical portrait of Abraham Lincoln, told through Lincoln’s writings including the Gettysburg Address. A fifth generation Michigander and third generation Grand Rapidian, he was the first person of color to serve as U.S. Attorney in West Michigan.

Arrive at the concert early and enjoy pre-concert entertainment featuring Michael Schaeffer.
