Royce Auditorium, St. Cecilia Music Center map
Description:
Come with us to Italy of the 18th century when she gave us the power and beauty of the baroque in music and art. Italians and foreigners all came under the spell of the lively and deeply affecting melodic and harmonic adventures of this new style. This concert explores the length of Italy with the Neapolitan Porpora to the Venetian Vivaldi. Telemann pays homage to the water gods of Roman mythology and even Mozart sets the story of his witty opera in Naples!
