Grand Rapids Symphony Society Holds Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Grand Rapids Symphony Society was held May 12 at the University Club in Grand Rapids. The Society elected six new members and re-elected fourteen current members to the Board. The Society also elected an Honorary Board Member. In addition, the Society elected two Endowment Trustees. Following the meeting of the Society, the Board of Directors held its annual meeting and elected officers for the coming year.

New board members elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors include: Michael Ellis, President, Ellis Parking Company; Stephanie Leonardos, President & CEO, Amerikam; Pastor Clifton Rhodes, Jr., Senior Pastor, Messiah Missionary Baptist Church; Ellen Satterlee, CEO, Wege Foundation; William A. Walker, President & CEO, Legacy Trust; and Kate Pew Wolters, President, Kate & Richard Wolters Foundation.

The Society also elected Jack H. Miller, Retired President & CEO, Howard Miller Co., as an Honorary Board Member of the Grand Rapids Symphony Society’s Board of Directors.

Current board members re-elected to the Board of Directors include: Sara Armbruster, Karl Betz, Richard Breon, James Dunlap, Robert Fairman, Charles Frayer, Lawrence G. Kloth, Isaac Norris, Timothy O’Donovan, Dr. Larry J. Robson, Karen Henry Stokes, Jeffrey Tiggleman, Stephen Waterbury and Sean Welsh.

New trustees elected to serve three-year terms as Grand Rapids Symphony Endowment Trustees include: Robert S. Collier, CEO, Council of Michigan Foundations; Paul W. Potter, President, PFB Inc. In addition, Endowment Trustee Allan D. Engel was re-elected to the Grand Rapids Symphony Endowment Trustees.

The Symphony Board of Directors elected the following officers: Stephen Waterbury, Chairperson; Dr. Larry J. Robson, Immediate Past Chairperson; Peter M. Perez, Chair Elect; Karen Henry Stokes, Secretary; David Weiskittel, Treasurer; Timothy O’Donovan, Vice Chairperson; and Stuart Vander Heide, Vice-Chairperson.
