Ticket sales contribute less than half of what is needed to maintain an outstanding orchestra for our community. Donations, sponsorships and fundraising events are all vital to your Symphony.

Celebration of Soul 2016
February 27, 2016, the Grammy-nominated Grand Rapids Symphony will continue
its exciting community collaboration by presenting the 15th annual Symphony
with Soul concert, preceded by the 11th annual Celebration
of Soul dinner and MaLinda P.
Sapp Legacy Awards presentation.
guest artist for this year is modern jazz icon Marcus Roberts. Roberts lost his eyesight as a child, but gained
extraordinary insight into American music—inspiring a new generation of jazz
musicians with his virtuosity on the piano and innovative compositions.

Created in 2006 to honor the accomplishments of individuals and organization dedicated to diversity and inclusion, this annual event precedes the Symphony with Soul concert and honors said individuals and organizations with the Dr. MaLinda P.
