Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Paul Moravec’s Brandenburg Gate serves as perfect companion for Bach and Brahms.

This program features a composition from a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, as well as the works that inspired him. Bach's Brandenburg Concertos are among the most renowned pieces in the Baroque era. We present the fourth concerto, full of solos from our own musicians as well as violinist Renee Jolles. Brahms' second serenade presents a unique orchestral timbre without violins and trumpets. The concert finishes with Brandenburg Gate, heralded by The San Francisco Chronicle as "tuneful, ebullient and wonderfully energetic."
